Univera to Stop MLM business from December 2020

Univera has gone public with their decision to drop their MLM opportunity.

In an announcement published on Univera’s website, the company says:

It is with a heavy heart that we announce that Univera ownership has made the difficult decision to transition the company from a network marketing organization to sales strictly through e-commerce channels.

Owners and management of Univera have attempted to make the transition easier for Associates by providing Associates with a “grace period” in which to collect a few more commissions and time to identify companies where you might take your talents after Univera transitions. The last day for Associates to earn commissions will be November 30, 2020, and so the last commissions payment will be made in December. After that, all Associate Agreements will be cancelled and Univera will become an e-commerce company.

Usually when an MLM company abandons MLM distributors are unfortunately the last to know. Fortunately their distributors were given a lengthy heads up.

There were some info going around in August suggesting that Univera is intending to close their MLM, however since it wasn’t public yet, I didn’t post it.

As per their announcement, MLM operations will end up sometime from December 2020.

Affiliates will earn commissions until November 30th, with the final commission run scheduled to follow.

After that, all Associate Agreements will be cancelled and Univera will become an e-commerce company.

This means Univera will sell directly to customers its distributors have referred to the company. It’s your typical retail non-MLM model.

Ironically traffic to the site appears to have spiked from September, not longer after CEO Ralph Bietz made the initial announcement.

Univera was established in 1998 by Bill Lee. Lee’s dad, Yunho Lee, died in 1996.

The Company was a continuation of Lee’s father’s business interests.

They marketed flagship aloe vera products, spanning nutritional supplement, weight loss and personal care ranges.

I was unable to find any explanation, openly accessible, for Univera’s choice to desert MLM.
